Ingredients:
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour (spooned and leveled)
1 c. sugar
3 T. unsweetened cocoa powder
1 t. baking soda
1/2 t. coarse salt
6 T. vegetable oil (or 3 T. oil and 3 T. applesauce)
1 t. pure vanilla
1 T. white vinegar
1 c. cold water
Directions
1. Preheat over to 350 degrees. In a quiche pan, round cake pan, or 8-inch square baking pan, whisk toether all dry ingredients.
2. Make a well in the center of the dry mixture and add vegetable oil, pure vanilla extract, white vinegar, and cold water. Whisk until wel combined. Bake until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, 35 to 40 minutes. Let cool.
Vanilla Frosting
1/2 c. butter (1 stick)
2 cups confectioners sugar (powdered sugar)
1/2 t. vanilla extract
abt 1 T. milk or cream
Mix ingredients and then beat well for about 3 minutes.
