Apple Pie from Dried Apples
Ingredients:
3 cups freeze dried apples
2 1/2 cups apple cider
Pastry dough or two ready-made crusts for a 9-inch pie
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon flour
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
Freeze dried apples recipe instructions:
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Place freeze dried apples in a bowl. Also, prepare your pie crust in a pie pan. Set both aside.
Bring cider to a boil in a small saucepan. Once boiling, pour over freeze dried apples. Let the apples sit for an hour to rehydrate.
Place remaining ingredients in a large bowl. Mix well. After the hour wait, add the freeze dried apples.
Spoon apple pie mixture into prepared pie pan. Top with the second ready made crust. Vent and brush with milk or butter.
Place pie in the oven and bake for about 50 minutes. Once ready, let cool before slicing. Enjoy!
